I would like to share the sad news with you all, that my godfather, and the longtime manager of my family, Robert Stigwood, has passed away. A creative genius with a very quick and dry wit, Robert was the driving force behind The Bee Gees career, as well as having discovered Cream, and subsequently managing Eric Clapton. He was also of course, the creator of the movies Saturday Night Fever and Grease, and many Broadway musicals with Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber. RSO Records pretty much defined the late 70’s. Of course, his biography is very extensive and can easily be found online…..I would like to thank Robert for his kindness to me over the years as well as his mentorship to my family. “Stiggy", you will be missed.

Sterna Winery
So to give you a break from political and social philosophies (for a minute...;)), go and check out Sterna Winery in Cyprus, or at least like them on Facebook. Savvas is an amazing host, the place is beautiful and the wine is exquisite. More photos are on my Spencer Gibb Photography Facebook page.
Some things are just not what they appear to be.
This seemingly beautiful pathway surrounded by trees on a hot summer afternoon was something entirely different to hundreds of thousands of people. It led to an area at the rear of the Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp that was used for mass shootings and the subsequent burning of bodies before the infamous Krematoriums were completed. We live in world now of instant gratification and severe attention deficit. If we don't pay attention to the things we've done, we WILL do them again...
Not so shockingly to those of you that know me....
My blog posts are starting to take on a slight political twist....;)
Slavia
One if the most most incredible cafés in the world. Historic, famous, infamous and notorious. Over the years became home to many dissidents, writers, poets and thinkers, including future Czech president Vaclav Havel. You want to just sit there all day and write. Or people watch....
Gestapo...
One of the especially beautiful things about Prague is the way that they honor very tragic events from the past. Whether it is hundreds of years ago or fairly recently. It is done with taste and often art. This statue and inscription is embedded into the side of the building that the Nazis used to torture prisoners during their occupation of Czechoslovakia.
Read your history:)
